About the Mentor Program

The Liver Disease Mentor Program connects patients who have participated in clinical trials with others who are just beginning their trial journey. As a mentor, you will share your personal experiences navigating liver disease treatment, inclusive of clinical trial participation. You will provide emotional support and help others feel less alone.

All interactions will take place in a secure, private environment.

Mentors are not healthcare professionals and do not provide medical advice.  All conversations are based on personal experience. Participants should always consult their healthcare provider regarding any medical questions or treatment decisions.

About the Eli Lilly Liver Disease Trial

SYNERGY is a Phase III trial (a study that tests an investigational medication to see if it works better, or just as well, as the current standard treatment). It is exploring if the investigational medicine (when added to their current care) can improve or reduce progression and/or adverse outcomes associated with high risk liver disease.

To be tested 2,250 patients

This study will be evaluated across a large and diverse group of participants to ensure reliable and meaningful results.

Approx. 3.5-year treatment

Each participant will receive the study treatment for around three and a half years as part of the clinical trial.

Randomized, Controlled Study

Participants are randomly assigned to different treatment groups, allowing researchers to fairly compare outcomes across groups.

Safety & Effectiveness Evaluated

The study closely monitors whether the treatment is safe to use long term and how well it works to reduce disease progression.

Regular Health & Liver Monitoring

Participants attend approximately 25–30 visits to track overall health and assess liver function and disease-related complications

What mentors are saying

Insights and experiences from those who guide and inspire.
I just want to be there for someone who’s going through something I’ve been through, sometimes simply sharing an experience can make a big difference.
