The ANKTIVA Mentor Program connects patients who have experience navigating treatment for BCG-unresponsive non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) with carcinoma in situ (CIS) with or without papillary tumors with others who are just beginning to learn about their options. By sharing your story, you can help someone else feel supported, encouraged, and understood— by someone who truly knows what the journey can be like.

Is there a cost to use the mentorship program?

No. This program is completely free for patients.

Who are the mentors?

Mentors are patients who have personal experience with ANKTIVA. They're not medical professionals, but they can share what their journey was like.

How do I get matched with a mentor?

Simply sign up and fill out a short questionnaire. Based on your responses, we'll match you with a mentor who has been through a similar experience and can offer support that feels personal and relevant.

How do I talk with my mentor?

Once you're matched, you'll connect through the secure PatientPartner platform. You can chat one-on-one with your mentor, ask questions at your own pace, and stay connected on the platform for as long as you'd like. Communication is available through messages only and will occur through the platform.

What kind of questions can I ask my mentor?

You can ask about their personal experience with BCG-unresponsive non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) with carcinoma in situ (CIS) with or without papillary tumors and ANKTIVA, what their treatment journey was like, how they felt when starting, and how they managed day-to-day life. Mentors can’t give medical advice; instead, they can share their experiences, what they wish they knew earlier, and how they made certain decisions. It’s a safe space to ask honest questions and hear real stories from someone who’s been there.

Can I ask medical questions?

Mentors can't give medical advice or make treatment recommendations. They can only share their personal experience. For medical questions, you should always consult your healthcare provider.

How soon can I talk to a mentor?

Your mentor will be notified as soon as you send a message. Since all mentors are volunteers, please allow up to 24 hours for them to respond.

Is the program private?

Your conversation is meant to be a personal exchange between you and your mentor. PatientPartner performs routine monitoring only to identify possible reportable events like safety concerns. This review does not expose your personal information (e.g., name, contact information, etc.) and is handled with strict privacy safeguards.

If necessary, your information (e.g., initials, date of birth) will only be used to fulfill the pharmaceutical company's safety reporting obligations.

Is this a paid position?

Mentors volunteer their time, but every connection creates an impact. For each mentee you support, PatientPartner donates to a charity of your choice, allowing your experience to make an even greater difference.

Do I need to have experience with ANKTIVA to use the program?

No. Whether you’re considering ANKTIVA or already receiving it, you can connect with a mentor who has been through a similar experience.
